Chlorine, greenish yellow gas of specific odour, is one of the most abundant elements present on earth. Chlorine easily gasify at room temperature. It also dissolves easily in water that results into a yellowish-greenish solution (Chlorine Water). Chlorine also dissolves easily in chlorinated organic solvents like chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and dichloroethane.
